College Board

As the sponsor of the SAT, PSAT and AP exams, the College Board is one of the best college-planning resources. The site features five key sections that organize the often overwhelming college application and decision process: Required Testing; Plan for College, which has separate divisions for high school juniors and seniors, as well as general tips and articles; Find a college, which allows a search by specific name or by location, major, cost and more; Apply to college, which walks you through the application process, from how many colleges to apply to to tips on admissions essays ; Pay for College, which provides info on college costs, scholarships, financial aid applications, education loans, and college financing, including a scholarship search and seven college financing calculators.
