Named for writer and environmentalist Wallace Stegner, the Stegner Fellowship is administered by Stanford University. Ten, two-year fellowships are offered each year - five in fiction and five in poetry. Fellowships include a living stipend of $26,000 per year and are focused on those intent upon practicing and perfecting their craft. Past Stegner Fellows include Raymond Carver, Phillp Levine, Wendell Berry and Robert Pinsky. The deadline is typically in December.
